You weren't really thinking about adapting saddlebags from some other bike onto your Spyder were you? A unique machine like this requires a unique design in order to look appropriate and that's just what we've come up with!
Corbin's Fleetliner bags were specifically designed for the Spyder to emulate the visuals of the bike and integrate perfectly. Notice how the lines and details of the stock bodywork has been incorporated into the design of the bags... some folks have even said the Spyder looks better and more "balanced" with the Corbin bags installed. As the saying goes, "a picture is worth a thousand words" so we'll let the images above speak for themselves.
Fleetliner saddlebags are specially engineered for each motorcycle so they fit the profile of the bike perfectly, like pieces of a puzzle. This enables the bags to carry the weight of the contents closer to the centerline of the bike and maintain perfect balance. Another benefit of our design and mounting system is a smaller overall width for less wind resistance. You won't even notice they're back there when riding and they remain stable at all speeds.

Because the Spyder doesn't lean in corners, we were able to make these bags larger than the average set... just over 50 liters per side to be exact. For those not committed to the metric system, that's 1.77 cubic feet (13.3 gallons) per side! To help you visualize, consider that a pair of saddlebags together holds roughly half of a 55 gallon drum! That's a lot of storage.
For loading, we've placed the doors on top of the bags and they open forward into the wind. This assures that contents will never spill out of your bags when you open them. The forward hinge motion helps the doors to self-close in the wind if you happen to forget them. Naturally the doors are fully weather stripped to keep the rain out if you should be so unlucky as to get caught in a storm.
Both bags come fully lined to protect your cargo and the doors feature adjustable locks for security. Installation is suitable for the average weekend mechanic and includes all required mounting brackets. Saddlebags are constructed of our Fibertech material for durability and a perfect finish and come to you prepainted to coordinate with factory paint in silver, red or yellow or gloss black for a more stealthy look. Available in a single, solid color or two-toned with black accent as shown on the yellow saddlebag for a little extra.
Fleetliner bags work with your stock turn signals and passenger footpegs. During installation you will be relocating these items to the Corbin saddlebag brackets. Notice also the stock muffler has been rotated down to allow more room in the right side saddlebag. We show our bike above with the stock silencer in the rotated configuration and also with a Micron pipe to release a nice note from that killer Rotax engine. If you'd like to change your pipe like we did, you'll be needing an adapter like the one offered by No Magic Neon Inc. (this is not part of the Corbin installation kit). If you are keeping the stock muffler, you will NOT need this adapter.
Combined with our saddle system, the Spyder becomes a formidable touring machine! Remember, although our saddlebags can hold an impressive amount of gear, it is never a good idea to overload your bike. Always conform to the weight limits outlined in your Can-Am owners manual to assure your safety.

One of the first things you'll notice about your new Corbin saddle is how stocky it feels. Our high density foam and rigid Fibertech base material add some heft to the seat, but it's worth it in the long run for sure! Here's why: Corbin's basepan material is extremely stiff and therefore supplies the necessary rigid foundation to support the carefully designed ergonomics of the saddle. A thinner or more flexible base (ie nylon) would allow the saddle to sag in the middle which changes the foam shape impacting comfort value. We always design our basepans as flat as possible since odd shapes or bumps can telegraph through the foam and create pressure points.
This rigid base also supplies the mechanics for built in hardware like our removable backrest system. Backrest support hardware is buried inside the Fibertech to assure it remains stable and supports the weight of rider or passenger. Remember, the Corbin backrest system is like a complete integrated sissy bar that adjusts! Pretty amazing when you think about it.
Specifically designed for Corbin, this hybrid material has almost no shrinkage as it cures. Fibertech combined with our patented manufacturing process provides a precision fit to all areas of the bike and offers minimal manufacturing tolerance. The entire basepan only contacts your bike through rubber bumpers to protect your paint.
Ergonomic Shaping
Better weight distribution
"Ergonomic" is the applied science ofequipment design intended to reduce operator fatigue and discomfort. Also calledbiotechnology, human engineering or human factors engineering. What it means isthat the product was designed to work with the human body. This is a key factorin how a Corbin saddle functions.
Notice how our saddles are sculpted and shapedto fit the human body? That's what we're talking about. This gives more squareinches of body contact which disperses your weight over a greater area. Sinceit matches the curve of your body, it also eliminates hot spots and centralizedpressure on your spine.
In order to manufacture seats this way, itrequires special materials and manufacturing processes. Over the years we'veexperimented with many different materials, but in the end wound up developingour own. The process itself, calledIntegrated Molding, was also inventedby Mike Corbin and was awarded a United States patent.
Naturally we're always on the lookout for newmaterials and processes. What you find today is the product of nearly fourdecades of relentless product development. Because of this, Corbin Saddles arecommonly considered the finest motorcycle seat in the world.
IntegratedMolding
Exclusive Materials and a Patented Process
One of the main reasons Corbin saddles have beenso popular over the years is because the technology under the saddle's cover isin constant development. New models and improved features require constantdiligence on the part of the factory to assure each product lives up to theoriginal design. Integrated molding was the missing link between designconcepts and actual production.
In a nutshell we've taken the components of thesaddle and combined (integrated) the molds into one unit. Brackets and backresthardware is placed in the mold where the basepan is created around it. The molditself dictates the shape of the base and placement of the hardware whilecreating a clean rounded edge in the exact same shape every time.
This same mold is then used to cast ourinfinite-ratio Comfort Cell foam into the ergonomic shape common to Corbinseats. This process takes place on a tight schedule while the Fibertech basematerial is still at a curing stage. This creates a chemical bond between baseand foam that helps keep the crafted shape intact under heavy use.
Integrated Molding has created a process soconsistant it gave our R&D team the freedom to design for a more precisionfit. Extremely tight tolerances allow the seat shape to fit every arc and curveof your motorcycle like never before. It also enabled us to introduce a host ofnew features like Chrome V-Rails, fold down backrest hardware, heater insertsand our new Ovalbac model backrests.
Genuine Leather Seating
For a luxurious ride
With few exceptions (seats for off-road bikes),we include genuine leather seating panels in all Corbin saddles. A naturalproduct, leather provides a luxurious ride by allowing your body to breathewhile in contact with the seat. Leather is also extremely durable so it willlast in the harsh environment your bike is subjected to.
Genuine leather will also adapt with the foamshape to support the personalized fit after break in. This is why we recommendusing vinyl instead of leather in the SIDE areas of your seat. Vinyl will"spring back" instead of stretching, so it will support the foamshape and stay looking new.
We have a wide range of specialty leathers &vinyls available for covering your Corbin saddle, but beware the Kid in a Candy Store syndrome. Most people that create wild seat coverdesigns end up unhappy with them over time and admit they went crazy justbecause they could. So even though we let you choose any materials you want foryour seat, doesn't mean you SHOULD... sometimes less is more.
Lastly, be sure to care for your leatherproperly with a quality conditioner like Corbin's Saddle Cream. This will helpit to resist the elements and stay water resistant and looking sharp longer.Over time you can expect your saddle to break in and develop its own uniquecharacter, just like your leather jacket or gloves.
Paint Color Matching
Color Variations
Color is one of the most emotional issues faced in therefinish & paint business. Everyone has an opinion about color. Unfortunatelyeveryone sees color slightly differently and this can be the cause of discussion. The biggest problem is thatof color variants. Cars and motorcycles are no longer produced in fixed colors, but come from the manufacturing plants in a range of shades of a particularcolor.
Manufacturers & OEMs
At the OEMplants, there are a multitude of reasons why variants may occur. These reasonsinclude the paint system being used, the line speed, line trials, lineproblems, plant differences and variations in film builds. No matter how hardOEM manufacturers try to duplicate paint results from unit to unit in any givencolor, there will always be paintvariations! No matter how much time and money OEM paint companies spend on makingsure their colors are consistent from batch to batch in both OEM paint and refinishformulas, there will always be paint variations.
Paint Maker
Variations inthe production of paint can also contribute to variations in a particular colorcode. As research and technology allow, new chemistries and resins may beintroduced into a particular product line at any given time. This may allow fora slight color shift when a plant empties a container of existing material andorders more from the supplier.
Also during the manufacturing process, thepotential exists for slight differences in the final product. The manufacturingprocess requires a lot of equipment, settings, human control, and other factorsand any slight change in any one of those components may contribute to theslight deviation. The final paint product may be well within the specificationsfor that product but be slightly different from a previous batch.
TrackingVariant Formulas
PPG (Corbin'smain paint supplier) monitors color consistency directly at the OEM plantswhenever possible and also out in the "real world" of repair centers. This is done through their Parts program by receiving documentation fromdistributors, customers and internal sales people.
This constant feedback of color informationallows PPG to identify colors that consistently do not match the OEM standard. They then create avariation (redder, greener, lighter, darker, etc.) of the Prime formula that will provide a bettermatch in some cases than the prime formula.
When a paint technician is looking up a colorusing any PPG Color Information System they check to see if a Variant formulaexists. This can save a great deal of time and provide better consistency.Corbin uses the PPG TouchMix computer to provide the best possible match toyour OEM paint. However, given variances at the OEM level, we cannot guaranteea perfect match at all times.

Accessories This configurator will add ONLY the saddle and cover design to your shopping cart. Go back to the product page to add backrests and other accessory items to your order.
Materials Sadly, materials come and go. Sometimes our suppliers can't get them anymore, sometimes they are discontinued because they don't hold up to long term use. The configurator always shows what is currently available.
Stitch Patterns Very few seats have more than one stitch pattern available (excepting Hollywood Solo models). So you can change the color of the stitching, but you cannot change the pattern. The specific webpage shows the correct stitch pattern while the configurator will show a generic stitch pattern that may not be correct for your seat.
Assembly stitch Color chosen for the decorative stitching does NOT effect the thread color for the assembly stitching. In those places we automatically use the most appropriate thread color for subdued looks.
IMPORTANT: This is strictly a visualization tool!
Please understand that every seat model is different with patterns and options varying from seat to seat. These digital models (configurators) represent the concept of how your seat will be made, but not exactly how it will appear when finished. Always refer to the images of the saddle specific to your motorcycle on the appropriate product page.
We have done our best to assure the colors and materials appear on screen accurately, but all computer monitors are different and your personal settings will make a big difference. When trying to match colors to your paint or if you have concerns, please contact us for material samples. We will be happy to supply these at no charge.
You're order will be reviewed for accuracy by one of our technical representatives once it is received. Changes may be recommended and/or required.
HAVE FUN!
