Another Corb-innovation! This new version of our popular Dual Touring saddle is the World's first production Heated AND Cooled motorcycle seat*. Corbin was first to bring the luxury of heated seating to your motorcycle and now we've created an option for relief of your burnin' bum during the Summer. Like all Corbin break throughs, this system is designed for simple installation and is fully self contained in the saddle. Simplicity, Form and Function all wrapped up in one neat package.
Thermal Image Comparison
Mr C picked up a cool thermal imaging device and we just couldn't pass up the opportunity to play around with the nifty gadget. Although the color time lapse video (HERE)
is interesting to watch, this greyscale comparison actually tells the
story more concisely. The two images in this comparison were shot just
seven minutes apart with the first image being on "Cool" and the second
image flipped to "Heat". In these images, dark is cold and white is
The Fire & Ice system is specifically designed into the saddle from the ground up. As such we are not able to add cooling to existing heated seats. We will be working on an ever widening range of applications including Indian Motorcycles, BMW Motorcycles and more. If you think there's a bike that really could use the Fire & Ice treatment, feel free to drop us a line using this form: CLICK HERE.
About Fire & Ice: Ever hear of the Peltier Effect? If so, you've probably already figured out the basics of how the Corbin Fire & Ice system works. With just a couple of fans and some clever application we can include both heat and cool in the same saddle without pumps, compressors or fluids. It should be noted the cooling effect is affected by ambient temperature. In our samples the room temperature was 74 degrees and it took just a few minutes to cool the seating surfaces down to a chilly 63 degrees. In our continued tests, the system quickly cooled the surface 10-15 degrees below ambient temperature. On the heat side we thermostatically set it to top out at approximately 110 degrees.
Installation is simple as the heat/cool units and all other components are built inside the seat. All you have to do it supply 12v current to make it work. We include a nifty pigtail that integrates with your factory fusebox in order to accomplish this. Detailed installation information is provided with each specific saddle model.
* Truth be told, we didn't scour the four corners of the Earth to confirm this, but we're pretty sure it's the first. There's always a chance Tony Stark is working on something in his lab...
Want your bike to look tough? This seat model is just for you, providing that bad-to-the-bone, barely there look. Even with the slick, low profile, you'll be amazed at how much support you get from the sculpted seating and high density foam.
Another offspring of the famous Corbin Gunfighter saddle. This design takes the fastback solo design to a new low... Low Profile that is! Built very sly across the fender with enough support up front for short to mid range riding. You can carry a passenger, but they're not going to like it for very long.
An evolution of the classic Gunfighter. This one features a sculpted tail section that comes to a point over the fender for a more radical look. As such, don't expect a passenger to be happy on this one. Ergonomic shaping up front gives plenty of comfort and support. Some Stinger saddles accept an optional rider backrest.
This is what a Gunfighter looks like when you take the classic fastback look and design it for a sportbike. Carefully designed to follow the unique contours of each motorcycle and give the look of a race cowling. Ergonomically engineeded seating provides excellent comfort with short trip passenger capability.
This model is specially made to provide the look made popular on the British racing bikes back in the 1970's. The solo design gives excellent comfort with a sleek tail that flows back to the fender. Perfect for the retro bikes like the Triumph Bonneville pictured here. Color coordination is always included at no extra charge.
Corbin backrests are designed to install and remove easily so you can use a single backrest transferred front to back as needed or get two for full time use. Just slide the backrest shaft into the hardware contained inside the saddle and lock it in place with a single safety screw.
Backrests adjust to rider profile easily without removing the rest from the seat. In some saddles we incorporate special hardware in the front position that allows the backrest to fold down to ease mounting the bike. This hardware also allows you to position the backrest fore and aft to suit your stature.
Of course, all backrests are made to coordinate with your Corbin saddle in your choice of materials. Ovalbac models also have finishing plate options for the rear to add a bit more flair. Need a little storage? Check out Corbin's new Glovebox that bolts directly up to your backrest in place of the finishing plate and adds four liters of storage!
Smuggler provides a clean cowling look combined with convenient locking storage. Part of Corbin's modular seating system that provides versatility through a variety of seating and storage components. Capacity varies by application but is generally large enough for bottled water, cell phones, spare gloves and other essentials.
A vintage, nostalgic look for your cruiser with options for passenger accomodations. Classic Solo is often made available in a Close version too for riders with reach issues. Wide, sculpted seating for excellent comfort and support. Many offer options like removable backrests and electric heat.
A cool, low profile look for your ride with the ability to carry a passenger. Keeps the nostalgic look of your cruiser while providing good short to medium range comfort. Corbin's high density Comfort Cell foam and carefully designed ergonomics give lasting support.
As the name implies, this is a two up versino of the Corbin Gunfighter. We keep the lines tight and follow the contours of teh bike for a totally integrated look. Instead of the fastback tail, this model has a nice contoured passenger platform. Many models accept a removable passenger backrest. This model is an excellent blend of form and function.
Maximized seating platforms give the most amount of contoured support available. Usually designed with the option for an adjustable backrest in both seating positions. This model is sometimes made in a Close version for smaller riders. Notice how we take the generous seating areas and sculpt them to follow the lines of the bike for classic for AND function.
You don't normally associate Corbin with off road bikes, do you!? We've taken the Corbin design principal and applied it to off road machines. Designed to provide more square inches of body contact laterally while still allowing freedom of body movement forward and rearward. Now available for select quad models too.
Close saddles are a variation on the standard Corbin design that offers seating closer to the bars with a lower seat height and narrow nose for ground reach. Depending on the application we sometimes make CLOSE versions of Classic Solos, Gunfighters and Dual Tour models.
